Supplied as a concentrate in 100ml or 1 litre bottles.

Phenoxetol is an ideal replacement for Formalin in the preservation and
storage of animal tissue and whole specimens. It is much less unpleasant
and dangerous to work with than Formalin. Once made into a 1 % solution,
the Phenoxetol is colourless, almost odourless and non-volatile. Specimens
preserved in this way keep their colour well and the tissues remain soft and
flexible, ideal for dissection. Phenoxetol also evaporates less quickly than
alcohol and is less flammable.

To Prepare for Use:
Phenoxetol should be stirred into hot water (90°C) to make a 1 % solution.
Cool before use. For best results, specimens should be fixed in Formalin for
a short period and then washed in water before immersing in the
Phenoxetol.
If replacing non-Phenoxetol preservative in a specimen jar, remove all old
preservative and wash with water before adding diluted Phenoxetol. If the
specimen is already in Phenoxetol, then simply top up with new diluted
Phenoxetol.
