Daphnia pulex is a species of water flea that feeds on various species of algae. They have a clear carapace that allows you to view their internal organs without causing them any harm. They are ideal for studying heart rate and digestion in response to different chemicals. Moreover, they serve as a vital food source for many aquatic organisms, making them a key component of a pond’s ecosystem.

We’ve collected and sourced Daphnia pulex from natural ponds for over 30 years. We send care sheets with each Daphnia order to help you maintain them, and we always do our utmost to provide isolated Daphnia pulex for sale through our online store (some samples may contain other specimens).

If you’d like to know more about the importance of buying live daphnias for your pond, get in touch with us.
